New flower!!!

Hey!!!!

   Yesss..I have an announcement to make! :) You can now get the shabby chic hair flower (extremely "in," by the way) in a beautiful teal!

This color is really popular right now, so no doubt it would go with several of your outfits!
The flower is the same size as the cream shabby chic one (2 1/2 inches), pictured in the "All Products" tab.

Alsoooooo.....You can order this same flower not only in cream, not only in this gorgeous teal...but also in hot pink or black!! I can even mix  more than one color into one flower! For instance, want a black and cream shabby chic hair flower? No problem! You might want different combinations such as cream and  teal, or hot pink and  black, or black and  teal, or some other combination!

Some of you may also like "tiny" shabby chic hair flowers.. --which would look really cute, I might add--(and I can make hair flowers look even more shabby chic than what is pictured), so feel free to place a custom order for that or anything else!

Okay..I don't know how or why this is happening..but the poll keeps erasing votes. Yesterday it erased five..and now it erased ALL the votes. *Face palm* (I've never even heard of that happening before..)

Let the Contest Begin!!!

Alright, so let's get started! I know you all have been curious as to what this blog contest is...which is why..I'm not going to tell you until next week. x) Jk, jk lol.. So I am having aaaa... picture contest! :) First off, you must qualify to participate by joining my blog via google friend connect!      I see several of you have already done that...Thumbs up to you! You're on top of things! (:
However, if you haven't done that yet, now's the time! I've noticed that not too many people know what google friend connect is so if you have any questions about joining it, feel free to ask! (Please not that google + and google friend connect are two totally different things!)
     So you're probably wondering: just what kind of picture contest is this..? Answer: A hair flower modeling contest! :)

All you have to do is:

1. Pick your favorite hair flower.
2. Get your picture taken of you modeling it!
3. E-mail it to bloomsofglory@gmail.com

You're email will NOT be given out, and your pictures will only be posted on this blog. So, no worries! :)

You will have two weeks to send in a picture of yourself. Please note that October 30th is the last day that pictures will be accepted! 

In your picture, no showing cleavage is allowed and clothing must be below the knee! (Though, the picture does not have to be a full body shot.) Also, the picture must be of  you modeling the flower, and you are allowed only one picture entry! However, if you would like to replace a previously sent in picture before or on October 30th with what you feel is a "better one," than what you sent in before, that will be accepted.

After the two week time period is up, the second stage for the contest will commence--voting! You may cast one, and only one, vote even if you participated by sending in a picture! Rules, though: You are not allowed to vote for your own picture!  If you didn't send in a picture for the contest, you can still vote! The more votes the merrier! Simply join my blog via google friend connect and cast your vote! After the voting has ended, (obviously) the picture with the most votes wins!
      In the event there is a tie, the pictures with the tied amount of votes will be placed in Round 2, for which there will be a re-vote on the tied pictures!

The winner will be featured on my blog with their winning photo as well as an interview!

This is my first blog contest so I'm trying to get a feel of how many participates I'd have when I have an upcoming contest with a giveaway as the prize, so I ask that you all would please participate as if the prize were a giveaway!

Flower Symbolism #2

Picking up with the next two hair flowers from where I left off in the All Products tab (Truth and Truth 2), we come to the Zinnia, the flower for which the general meaning is thoughtfulness and friendship. 

     "The meaning of zinnia is deeper than most of the flowers blooming in the mid summer season. The flower zinnia, is a symbol of lasting love, goodness, thoughts of an absent friend, constancy and daily remembrance of good memories. The state flower of Indiana is zinnia. The meaning of the flower is different depending on its color. A yellow colored zinnia is a symbol of daily remembrance, the white zinnia represents goodness, the scarlet zinnia represents constancy, magenta zinnia is a symbol of lasting love and affection, while a mixed colored zinnia means thinking of an absent friend. The first ever flowers were discovered in early 1500s in the wilderness of Mexico. These zinnias were very unpleasant, dull and unappealing. Aztec, the Mexican emperor during the 1500s named them and it meant "eyesore". Today, the common name of zinnia is garden Cinderella, which implies the level of transformation that the flower went through." (Excerpt from the web--buzzle article.) 

     Although there are orange zinnias, I could not find the symbolic meaning for them; however, the general meaning of a zinnia, which I stated at the beginning of this post, is thoughtfulness and friendship. The color orange means vitality or endurance and stimulates enthusiasm and creativity. Those who are usually drawn to this color are very thoughtful and sincere people, as well as quite social. Orange also is a combination of the energy that red stimulates, and the color yellow's effect of happiness, as well as increases self-esteem! From all the other symbolic meanings I have read, I am led to believe that the orange zinnia would symbolize thoughtfulness and endurance. 

Flower Symbolism

     Each flower name has a symbolic meaning. For some flowers, the symbolism varies according to the color for the same flower! Wouldn't it be interesting if you realized that the hair flowers you are most drawn to adorning yourself with... express your inward emotions..? 

     "All over the world women wear flowers in their hair. It is the oldest and most natural adornment. With their scent and their fragile beauty flowers can transform simple hair styles into adorable and even breathtaking creations. But they are not only beautiful, they also tell messages.

The language of flowers goes back thousands of years. Each culture had its own meanings attached to the tender plants. In Europe the art of wearing flowers became very popular in the time of Queen Victoria, in the late 1800’s. Then each flower had a meaning expressed by the way it was held, given or put into a vase. Everything was coded, down to the color of the vase.

Some decades later the flower children in the 1960s rediscovered flowers to show their connection to nature, as a symbol for love, innocence and divine beauty." (Excerpt from website)
 
     The rose is one of the flowers that has multiple meanings, depending upon its color. The red rose hair flower in the All Products tab (Joy 3) is the cause for my choice of mentioning today's FSF, or Flower Symbolism Facts. However, I will be mentioning the symbolic meanings for the three different colors of the rose hair flowers (Joy 1, Joy 2, and Joy 3) in the All Products tab.

     The red rose has the symbolic meanings of Sacrifice, Immortal love, Health, Memorial, and Passion; whereas, the green rose's symbolism is calmness, fertility, and fruitfulness. 
 Some more keywords expressing the rose's symbolism in a broader sense are Love, Honor, Faith, Beauty, Balance, Passion, Wisdom, Intrigue, Devotion, Sensuality, and Timelessness. 

As for the orange rose:

     "Orange roses have emerged as one of the true stand-outs among today's popular rose varieties. The fiery color of an orange rose immediately conjures up passionate thoughts of romance. They can also be reminiscent of the warmth of a glowing sunset, or the sweetness of citrus. Orange roses come in a range of shades, from bright orange to softer coral and peach colors. Since the introduction of the orange rose into the world of roses, they have quickly found their place in the hearts and imaginations of rose aficionados everywhere.

     "The orange rose has mainly come to be regarded as the symbol for desire, enthusiasm and passion. Being a literal mixture of the colors yellow and red, orange roses were often seen as a bridge between the feelings of friendship symbolized by yellow roses, and love associated with red roses. 

     "The association of orange roses with romantic expressions is fitting, considering the obvious connection between the color of fire and the metaphors we associate with it. The orange rose has become the perfect way to symbolize the heat of passion, burning desire and the flames of love. Orange roses have a power to send a message of romance that can rival even the red rose!

     "In the relatively short time the orange roses have been on the scene, they have had quite an impact. From those who simply enjoy the warming color, to those who wish to convey that special meaning, the orange rose has become a mainstay in the family of roses. They can have the soft radiance of an autumn sunset which warms and soothes the spirit. Vertical?

Heyyy!

    So, yes, I finally got all the pictures changed out in the "All Products" tab! Also, it seems it is impossible to get google to let me upload two of those pictures correctly to my blog. =S I've used my own brain power, googled it, tried keyboard short cuts,and whatever else I could think to do...with no positive results.=p So that's the reason for any vertical pictures. Seems many, many other people (since 2010) have been having the same problem and google won't do anything about it; if there's a way any of you know how to correct it, then please let me know! I would be so happy...to finally get it fixed. ;) Anyway, it's good to go for right now, so I look forward to hearing from those of you who are interested in the hair accessories I have for sale!

   I'm in the process of putting better quality pictures in the "All Products" tab so please be patient while I get the pictures all changed out. I have most of them done, but some I will have to do a little later. You can still visit the tab...just wanted to give the explanation for the mixture of pics! :)

      I did some experimenting last night with hair flower making, and it's results can be summed up with the words "success" and "more options"!!!!! Alriiight!! I don't know about y'all, but I like the sound of that! xD

                        Okay, so you are probably wondering where the new options are because you've already seen these four hair flowers! Wellllll....I'm going to tell you what they are. (: 

As you can see from the picture, the yellow, lime green, and mixed cream and pink hair flowers are the same style. That style hair flower is now available in the color pink! (The same pink as the solid pink flower shown above.)

That's not all! 

You can also order the solid pink hair flower that is pictured above in either yellow, lime green, or mixed cream and pink! Awesome, right? I know. x) 

 ;D 

Wait! That's still not all of the new options! 

So far, all of my hair flowers have been attached to an alligator clip. Now you can request them on a headband or another attachment!

What? You thought that was it too? Don't stop me now; I'm on a roll!!! XD

You can also order any of the hair flowers mentioned in this post to be a smaller size!
All of these options,  I would consider custom orders...but the prices shouldn't be higher than what's listed for the flowers in "All products." It just depends on your custom order. :)

Blog and Discount Info

Hello everyone!
    It has happened recently that the tabs at the top of my blog weren't noticed by a new viewer. So in case anyone else didn't notice "Contact me," "All products," ect, all of the tabs are near the top of the page, and you can click on them to see more information!

     Also, the "All products" tab (which I keep updated) may have a certain flower you want that only reads as one of that kind available. If you want, say, two of a hair flower that only has one as its availability, you can still request two of that kind! The number available is just what is already made and ready to ship, but I can make more!

For those of you who wish to make an order consisting of multiple hair flowers, you probably noticed at the bottom of the "All products" page that I mentioned a discount may apply for multiple flower orders. If you want a price estimate on that, feel free to ask and I will gladly give you one!

Another lace flower

I had some cream-colored eyelet lace left over from a custom order, so I decided to make this flower with it:

It is attached to a small, toothed alligator clip and would go great with vintage clothing!

More Pics, More Flowers!

In this post we have some new flowers, and then some others that I've already posted only with a slight change or of better picture quality.

This is the exact same kind as the lime green flower I posted not too long ago, only it's yellow. It is a perfect match with a CTV t-shirt. :) 

Our new camera came in earlier this week, and I love the high quality pictures it takes! 

You probably recognize this flower from before. :) This is how it would look if you ordered it with a pearl center.

This flower has the fake jewel center. 

I was having some trouble before getting the accurate color of this flower with the other camera, but I was able to get an accurate picture of it using our new one. :)

Here we have a cream flower mixed with some pink and pink-ish purple accents. Very pleasant to the eye and would go very nicely with a church outfit. If a different center piece is desired, it can be replaced upon request.

I'd really like to know what y'all think! If you're not much for leaving comments, I'd appreciate it if you at least selected a check mark box! :)

Sorry I didn't get a clearer picture of the flower being modeled, but it should at least give you a good idea of how it would look in your hair. :)
